I think that the mood jacob's set was a very dark one. He had made it so that if you got your wish you had to give up something else you love. He built up suspense by having the people wait a while before the wish came true. At the end as the husband and wife lie in bed, he was describing the surroundings and setting. Also the look on the wife's face.

I don't think that she is a hero. I think if she had have gotten a limb blow off and saved somebody she would've been a hero. However, she only survived being kidnapped. Like she said, shes only a survivor. She said she would go back to Palestine in the interview, which proves she haves guts, but if she was there, and the same thing happened, but she fought through her pain and saved somebody, then she would be a hero. As of now though shes only a survivor.

Jello

When i first put my hand in the jello, i didnt know what to expect. It felt like a squishy wonderland of gushy goodness. It made you feel like if you jumped into a pool of jello it would feel great. It covered my hand in a sticky saliva substance that felt really weird. It was a great odd feeling.

homework

I think the hardest question for me to answer was who i pretend to be. Im not realy sure who i pretend to be. Its one of thoe things that your not positive about, but even if you were you feel like you cant admit it because you seem fake. Saying you pretend to be like something seems like its saying you only do it to look cool, you dont actually belive it. The hardest part of the activity for me was listening. Speaking i dont mind doing, but im not very paitient and sitting down listening to somebody for 3 minutes is hard for me. I noticed that when i listen to somebody i always want to but in, but i have to teach myself how to not do that, or have that feeling. As a speaker i think that i am very easy going, i dont need anybody to be listening, as long as i get everything out that i needed to say.

Personality

I think that it would be a lot easier to act like somebody else if you needed friends, but you wouldn't be true to yourself. If you acted like yourself, you might be a total outcast for a while, but your not giving in to peer pressure. Melinda in the book is being true to herself by not acting like the marthas or foreign exchange students just to fit in. Heather on the other hand isn't acting like herself because she is going to join the Marthas just so she has some friend. It really just depend who you are when it comes to this sentence. If you want to have friends, sometimes you have to act like other people. But if you just want to go through high school without friends, then you can still act like yourself. However some people can still act like there selfs and still have friends. It all depends on your personality. Personally for me, i dont think you should be something your not and i think melinda is doing a good job of it.

Waling Wall

i am afraid that the Mccain Palin group will get elected and our nation will go into a giant unstoppable landslide. John Mccain would be the oldest president ever to be elected and he already has had a heart attack so he might die and Sarah Palin would become president. Because of the fact Sarah Palin only has 1 year of being a governor for experience she would ruin this country. Also, my mom might move to Canada and bring me with her and i would be the stupid kid who doesn't speak English in the back of the class.

Lillys shoes

If i was in Lilly's shoes i would have told Rosaleen to walk away like she told her to do. However, instead of letting her keep talking i would have walked away so she would have followed. Then Hopefully she would have followed and no trouble would have started. If Rosaleen did get put in jail then i would have told my father id run away if he didn't let Rosaleen out. If he didn't then i would run away and do what Lilly's doing right now.

I think Lily's motive for running away is that she wants to see her mother.I think the Only reason she got Rosaleen to come is because she feels like she needs an adult figure to guide her through her trip. I think by finding her real mom will find some sort of peace in her life.
